School Crossing Guards
The Piscataway Township Police Department is seeking candidates for the position of School Crossing Guard. Bus Driver (full time)
The Department on Aging is seeking a full time CDL driver 35 hours a week. Must possess a valid NJ Commercial Driver’s License with passenger (Class A or B endorsement). Must be vaccinated and pass a CDL physical. Driver will be responsible to transport scheduled riders to their destinations. Must communicate with office staff via radio. Good interpersonal skills. Recycling Center/Mini-Dump staff (28 hours per week)
Staff positions are available for unskilled labor tasks at our Public Works Department’s (DPW) Recycling Center/Mini-Dump on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. rain or shine. Part-timers have the option to work Wednesday or Friday to fill out the 28 hours and will get the opportunity to work with other divisions on those days.
DPW provides all PPE except for safety-toe work boots. The position starts at $17.38/hour.
Housing / Property Maintenance Inspector (part-time 20-25 hours/week)
The Housing/ Property Maintenance Inspector will inspect dwellings and other structures for compliance with provisions of Township of Piscataway’s Code to safeguard the health and safety of occupants and the general public. The Housing Inspector shall be responsible for the enforcement of the Property Maintenance Code and examine dwellings and properties to determine compliance with minimum Municipal Certificate of Continued Occupancy (MCCO) standards. Inspections shall be conducted for property transfers and rental applications in need of a Municipal Certificate of Continued Occupancy.
Requires one to three years of experience in code enforcement or building inspections. Must be able to interact effectively with co-workers and the public, conduct field inspections, and prepare comprehensive reports. NJDCA Inspector of Hotels and Multiple Dwellings license is required.

Junior Office Assistant - Department of Public Works
The Piscataway Township Department of Public Works is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an entry level position as Junior Office Assistant at its facility located at 505 Sidney Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854. The position will report to the Office Manager. The qualified candidate must have proven customer service and administrative support skills with an ability to work in a team environment. This individual shall be responsible for support of all department office activities to include but not be limited to addressing Township residents’ inquiries, answering phones, processing payment invoices through a purchase order system, processing employees’ time for payroll, filing, record keeping and general office duties. Computer skills are a must with specific proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook and must have the computer capability to learn the Department’s various software programs. Salary shall be based on level of experience. Annual Salary range: $35,959.00 - $48,858.00. Picnic staff (part-time)
Township Recreation is hiring park staff at $15/hour for our May-August picnic season:
- Open the park pavilions for the guests
- Maintain upkeep at the park including bathrooms & garbage cans
- Set-up & breakdown of gas grills
- Monitor parks during picnics
You must be able to lift 50 pounds. Picnic time slots are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 11 a.m.-6 p.m. & Noon-7 p.m.
