Piscataway Police Gain Notable Distinction

State Police Chiefs Bestow Accreditation to Township Law Enforcement

October 29, 2020 – Piscataway Mayor Brian C. Wahler and Acting Police Chief Thomas Mosier are thrilled to announce that the Piscataway Township Police Department (PTPD) has been accredited by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP).

“You and the members of your department can be justifiably proud of this accomplishment,” NJSACOP Accreditation Program Director Harry J. Delgado noted in his communication to the PTPD.

NJSACOP looks at many factors when determining accreditation such as department leadership, personnel development, records and financial management, arrest and investigation procedures, weapons training and call responses.

“Piscataway is proud of the professional excellence of our Township police and the trusting and valued relationship it has with all facets of our diverse community,” Mayor Wahler said. “I am pleased that the police chiefs of our state have given this well-deserved recognition to our police department.”

“For the dozens of current officers and the many more that have worked in law enforcement in one of our nation’s oldest townships, I am proud to continue leading this outstanding agency now recognized with a noteworthy seal of approval from my colleagues throughout the state,” Acting Chief Mosier said. “Our rank and file officers as well as Lieutenant Michelle Pilch, our accreditation manager, deserve special thanks for working admirably to achieve this accolade.”
